Option list

Within the questionnaire and setup information nodes there are three different kinds of question formats for option lists.

  1. Radio
  2. Dropdown
  3. Multiselect Checkboxes
  4. Multiselect Dropdown

Radio

The radio format requires the signee to choose between two or more options.

The document will only show the selected option.

Dropdown

The drop down format functions exactly like the radio format except the appearance of the option list will be in a drop down list and placeholder text can be added to the drop down list.  It is useful for when you have more options to choose from than would look appealing in a radio element.

The document will only show the selected option.

Multiselect Checkboxes

The Multiselect Checkboxes element type allows the signee to choose one or more options from a set of options in a checkbox format.

The document will show all the available choices, and which choices were chosen.

Multiselect Dropdown

The Multiselect Dropdown element type works exactly like the Multiselect Checkboxes element, but will appear as a dropdown list to the signee.

This is especially useful for longer options lists, that you would not want to present as checkboxes.

The document will only show the selected option.

Configuration

Fill in the fields to configure the multiselect Checbox Element:

  1. Title: Enter the title here (required)
  2. Description: If the question requires further explanations write them here (optional)
  3. Tooltip: If the question requires even further explanations you can write them here, and they'll appear in an info bubble (optional)
  4. This field is required: By default all questions are required to be answered by the signee. If a question should be optional, uncheck this checkbox.
  5. Appearance: Here you can change between all the options element types
  6. Options: Here you write the options available to the signee. To add another option click the "Add option" button.
  7. Conditional element: A conditional element is a follow up question that is presented to the signee when the signee choses the option it is connected to. There can be more then one conditional element per option and they can be in any format. See more here.
  8. Predefined options: We have a few predetermined options lists ready for you to use, such as a list of all countries in the world, currencies and NACE numbers. If you want to use these simply click them and they will populate the options list in your element, so you can edit them.

Advanced field settings

  1. Data key: A Data key is automatically generated when you enter the question. The data key is used for delivering information between Taktikal and external systems, such as via integration, webhooks and API. These Data Keys need to be unique but can be changed here. We advise using caution when changing Data Keys if the connection to the external system has already been made, since changes to the Data Key will cause errors in delivery unless the same change is made to the Data Key in the other system.
  2. Enable edition options data keys: When this is toggled on, you are able to determine the data key for each option. This can be helpful for when you want to connect another flow to this one or are setting up delivery via webhooks.

Conditional elements

A conditional element is a follow up question that is presented to the signee when the signee choses the option it is connected to. There can be more then one conditional element per option and they can be in any format.

To add a conditional element click the "+ Add Conditional Element" link beneath the option you want to connect a conditional element to.

Next configure the conditional element based on the element type

The preview panel will indicate that you are editing a conditional element and for which option the conditional element connects to.

The editing panel will indicate that you are editing a conditional element by stacking the editing panel on top of the editing panel for the original element, as well as providing a breadcrumb trail for you to follow, at the top of the editing panel. You can go back to the original question by clicking the breadcrumbs or the back button at the top of the editing panel or by clicking the editing panel for the original question visible as a narrow line to the left of the editing panel for the clarification question.

Once the editing question has been created it will appear below the option it was connected to.

The document will show the conditional element linked to the correct option.
